Welcome to Premier Player Development Soccer Academy.  We are an organization that fosters creativity, development, and growth for our soccer players.  Our goal is to offer competition at a higher level for those aspiring individuals whose local club may not be able to offer.  Premier Player Development Academy is a supplemental training vehicle for its soccer players and will not conflict with its players club.  Travel clubs shall take precedent over the Academy during soccer’s regular Fall and Spring season.  We will concentrate on entering competitive invitational only level tournaments focusing mainly during the winter season. Premier Player Development Soccer Academy is based out of Putnam County, New York.

What does this mean to our players?  First, PPD Academy is by selection, invitation and/or tryouts only.  Secondly, each player will be registered as a US Soccer member.

“US Club Soccer is founded on the belief that soccer clubs, which are in the business of elite player development, need an organization of their own to foster growth, address concerns, and sanction and provide programs with a minimum of rules and restrictions.”

Once our players are registered US Soccer members, we can then pull from our registered players and form tournament teams.  These teams can be a roster of its member’s availability and pulled from different genders and ages.  This allows PPD to have more flexibility, yet assures that all its players can compete at this higher level of play. Team roster size will depend on the size of the tournament (ex. 5v5, 7v7).

Why should you get involved?  We believe keeping the talent local. As players reach U11, local travel teams cannot sustain high level teams due to various skill levels within a team.  The more serious playes get frustrated with the lesser skilled players.   Those driven and soccer committed players leave their local teams and seek higher competitive teams at the premier level.  PPD Academy wants to prevent that and keep those players from leaving town.  PPD Academy can offer premier training and competition without the long practice commute and big bucks.

How does one get selected for the Academy? - The Academy teams are a small roster of 2-3 teams .  During the winter session the Academy teams will be playing small sided tournaments carrying a roster of 5-10 players depending on how many fielded players are required for that particular tournament.  These players have been through a "tryout" selection process that carries through many venues throughout the year.  Premier Player Developments method of selection is not by a 25 minute tryout, a scrimmage and a ranking, it's a tryout over a period of time.  PPD cannot evaluate a player in such a fashion. Every individual who PPD comes across is on a viewing tryout.  We watch how individuals practice, how they conduct themselves in scrimmage and games, how they apply what is being taught and if its carried over to the game, how their footskills are being developed and how they interact with teammates.  Most importantly we look at positive energy and attitude and if it is executed in every practice and game, on and off the field.  We look for those who show potential to move forward in their learnings and their love for the game.  Every player who is selected by PPD has been coached either through team training, participated in our winter or summer camps, and has been watched at their Sunday travel games.

Premier Player Development does offer winter footskills and summer camps, and we hope participation in those clinics will encourage and feed into our Academy.  There are opportunites for Non-Acadmey players who participate in PPD winter footskills program to guest play for an Academy team. The guest spot is not guaranteed and only presented if the Academy teams roster is low.

FUTSAL (Brazilian soccer) and Hybrid tournament – What is Futsal? Futsal is a 5v5 fast pace hard court soccer game played with a small weighted ball where emphasis is on creativity, improvisation and technique, as well as ball control and passing within small spaces. PPD will be participating in this Hybrid tournament played at United Althletics Center in Stratford, Ct.  The tournament offers 3 different styles of soccer to be played, Futsal (Brazilian style soccer on a futsal hard-court, 5v5 format), Boarded soccer (6v6 off-the-wall fast paced soccer in our 8-foot high glass rink) and Netted soccer (6v6 on our turf field).  Teams will be selected and represented in the U8/9, U10/11, U11/12 and U13/14 brackets depending on player availability and numbers.  Our first tournament will be December 3rd U8/9.  All hybrid tournaments will be held Saturday between 3-7.  The Futsal tournament may or may not be included in your Academy fee package depending on how many tournaments your player has participated in already.  An additional fee may incur depending on participation.

Facility and practice times – Training will take place once a week beginning December 6th to February 28th at the East Fishkill indoor turf off Route 52 from 7:00 to 8:30.

Dates: Dec. 6, 13, 20, Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28

What will this cost you?  Premier Player Development believes in developing its players to their highest potential by giving them the tools and exposure to competition at marginal cost. All clubs have to factor in membership, uniforms, tournament, training, facility and field fees.

A $100 startup fee includes US Soccer membership and Uniform (Home & Away jerseys, shorts, socks) at PPD Academy acceptance. Then 2 additional payments of $150 to be made on  Dec.6th, and Jan. 24th to cover PPD Academy fees for training with licensed trainers , facilities and 2 tournament during the 12 week program. Training will be held once a week beginning early December for a 12 week duration. If a 3rd tournament is added, players will pay out of pocket for participation.

Premier Player Development Soccer Academy goal is offering those individuals who are limited with their local club and wish to play at their fullest potential by striving for higher competitive play at affordable cost.  PPD Academy is excited about this new venue and we wish its players the best of luck!
